Looking forward to your next post :) Great wrap up of RailsConf, and you seemed to hit all the talks I also found most interesting.

Mihai

Any news on your JRuby experiences ? Is it faster ?

Michael Koziarski

I'm glad you enjoyed my talk, I had fun giving it. Plus it was nice to meet you guys (briefly) after the conference.

There's something almost as good as DTrace on Linux. It's called "oprofile". The thing I like about "oprofile" is that it knows about the hardware -- cache hits/misses, branch prediction hits/misses, etc. And it also knows about the kernel, MRI/KRI/Rubinius, your DBMS, etc. About the only thing it *won't* do for you is tell you what's going on inside the JVM on jRuby. But hey, Charlie's got real tools for that! :)

will you be reviewing Macruby?
